Through my extensive career I have been involved with magazines and immersed in the world of recognition and fame. Producing magazine covers that elicit a response to read more and explore the story behind the image was my job and passion for over 25 years.
When a person is widely recognisable and has reached a level of global fame, they become elevated to the status of icon.
When an image is presented of an icon it immediately fills the observer with a sense of their work or exploit - the image and the sense being intertwined.
I have often wondered as to how deep this connection is in us all. How to decode the image to its essence where the icon can still be recognisable.
My work explores how far the essence can remain through the deconstruction.
